Dr. Lynn Henderson
Dr. Lynn Henderson graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2007 and has been working in small animal practice since graduation. Lynn enjoys all aspects of companion animal medicine, but is especially interested in geriatric animals, feline medicine, and multi-modal pain management. House-call practice allows both the pet and the client to feel at ease, and a solid client-veterinarian relationship can be forged through increased appointment times and a comfortable atmosphere. Dr. Henderson has studied advanced pain management and canine massage, and is hoping to complete certification in veterinary acupuncture and palliative care in the near future. She has recently moved to Alliston, Ontario with her husband Glen, 4 1/2 year-old daughter Elin, and German-Shepherd dog Koda. Dr. Henderson will still be providing service to her regular service area extending from Alliston (North) to Schomberg (South).
Dr. Henderson is currently studying the care of geriatric patients, palliative care and end-of-life services. She is also studying Issues related to pet loss and bereavement.
Becky Wood is a veterinary technician (nurse) with over 10 years experience in veterinary clinics. She joined Henderson Mobile Veterinary Services in January of 2011 as a new challenge, and to gain new and different skills than what she had used in clinical practice. Becky is warm and energetic, and is an excellent addition to the team. Dr. Henderson regularly refers to Becky as the "Brains of the Operation"
In her leisure time, Becky enjoys cooking, hiking, and hanging out with her "kids". Sadly, last summer she lost one of her fur-kids (Hunter) to cancer. On a happier note, she has recently adopted a 10 year-old female Golden Retriever named Pyper, who provides great company for Becky's chocolate lab, Maddy. Becky lives with her husband Ken, and her dogs in Cookstown, Ontario.
Because of her love of older pets and alternative therapies, Becky has begun her professional training in canine massage therapy and can't wait to help all those pets who might benefit from this wonderful modality. She has studied animal reiki, and is also interested in pet loss and bereavement counselling. She will be acquiring certification in pet loss counselling in the fall of 2013.
Technician, Becky Wood, has begun professional study in Canine Massage Therapy. We are excited to one day add this gentle therapy to our list of healing services.
